What is normal? How should my tonsils look? When people have a sore throat, or difficulty swallowing, or even bad breath, they wonder, “what are normal tonsils?” Tonsillitis, sleep apnea, snoring, chronic bad breath, recurrent strep throat can all send people running to the mirror. Uh oh, what’s that? Should my tonsils look like that? Are these normal tonsils? Off to the internet we go, looking for pictures of normal tonsils.
Well, to help you in your quest for normalcy, I’ve uploaded a few tonsils pictures that I consider to be pretty “normal.” Other pages on the site have photos of tonsils in various states, ranging from tonsillitis, to tonsil stones, to strep throat, to post tonsillectomy. For now though, let’s start with a baseline. Here are a few pictures of normal tonsils;
